The Alliance, co-chaired by Dr. Joycelyn Elders, is a nonprofit volunteer organization that works to help further the elimination of racial and ethnic health disparities across communities of color and other vulnerable populations. Dr. Joycelyn Elders is the 15th Surgeon General of the United States.
Surgeons general serve as the “Nation’s Doctor” and have considerable knowledge and expertise concerning the American people’s health. Brown Floral Continues to Bloom with Acquisition of Additional Location

The owners of Brown Floral announced today the acquisition of “The Flower Box” floral shop, a local business established in 1978 and located in the Canyon Rim/Millcreek area of Salt Lake City, Utah, at 3223 East 3300 South. Brown Floral assumed operations in October and immediately conducted extensive renovations and remodeling. Installation of the widely recognized “Brown Floral” sign was recently completed.
In 2015, Brown Floral celebrated their 100th year in business, with a move to their new 10,000 square foot facility. Located in the heart of Holladay, the new building provides additional space to accommodate Brown Floral’s continued growth.

Chicago based activists and siblings, Ali Barthwell and David Barthwell, launched CivicInk (https://civic.ink), a web-based subscription service, on January 6, 2016 to help fellow citizens and voters increase political engagement.
For an eight dollar monthly fee, CivicInk sends one physical, personalized letter a month to each user’s elected Senators and House Representatives. CivicInk letters are customized to each subscriber in their name, and advocate for the political and social causes that users select. For example, if a user in Illinois is passionate about reproductive rights, a customized letter might be sent to Senator Mark Kirk advocating against defunding Planned Parenthood.

Online students can do remarkable work. That's the message Sessions College for Professional Design is sending with the launch of its annual Outstanding Graduate Awards program. In December, Sessions College announced that six of the school's online 2016 graduates would receive awards for outstanding student achievement.
The students honored all completed fully online two-year degree programs, studying across the U.S. and abroad at locations as diverse as Victor, Montana, Washington, DC, Ontario, Canada, and Palmerston, New Zealand. Award recipients were carefully selected by staff and faculty for academic excellence, strength of creative work, and overall contributions to the school.
