Dr. Scumpia Launches a Biological Age Institute

Austin Thyroid & Endocrinology today announced that it has entered into an agreement with PhysioAge Systems, LLC, a leader in the use of biomarkers of aging and personalized health analytics, to launch a Biological Age Institute. With this agreement in place, Austin Thyroid will use PhysioAge’s next-generation physical exam to gain deeper insights into the status and function of its patients’ most important physiological systems. The system utilizes extensively-tested biomarkers of aging to measure physiological age (as opposed to chronological age).  Tracking physiological age over time provides a clear and detailed profile of a patient’s individual aging process and helps direct age-management intervention. 

The Biological Age Institute uses PhysioAge to measure Bone age, Vascular age, Brain age, Skin age, Lung age, Immune age, and Telomere age. The results of the PhysioAge assessment enable Austin Thyroid to detect sub-clinical disease states while pinpointing the weakest body system. Unlike traditional sick-based medicine, the PhysioAge next-generation physical is proactive. It not only shows where a disease is now but also where there is potential for it to develop in the future.
